WHEN: 5-6 March 2016

LOCATION: Motuihe Island

We have confirmed Motuihe Island for our away weekend.
Some of those that have been around for a while will recall our previous trip to Motuihe in 2012.  It was a great success.
We will be finalising the details at tonights committee meeting.  Sailors from all fleets, and their families are encouraged to attend.  Online registrations will open within the next day or so.  We will ensure a special eNews is published.  So dig out your tents and sleeping bags for what is certain to be a great weekend.

SUMMARY
A barge will be loaded on the Friday afternoon.  An advance party will travel over on Friday evening to set up camp.  We expect that the marquee, large items and the bulk of the luggage will be transported on the Friday.

On the morning of Saturday the 5th (time to be confirmed) we will meet and rig up the yachts on Kohi Beach,  The sailors will sail as a floatilla, with the support of Kohi Ribs to the Island.  We are very conscious of safety, the young sailors will be closely supervised.  If the weather is adverse or any sailor is struggling, we shall get them on a support boat.  Parents and siblings will be transported by club and private boats.  The across water distance to Motuihe is approximately 5 nautical miles.

Camping will be at the DOC campsite.  A group booking has been made.  Meals will be prepared at the group tent.  On the Saturday evening there will be the traditional themed dinner – this year “On an Island”.  On the Sunday we will prepare to leave the island by early afternoon.

We will keep everyone updated on weather conditions and plans in the days leading up to our departure.  There is a limit to the number of campsites available, so please ensure that you register as soon as registration is open.  We would especially like to invite all those new families to the club, including  LTS and LTR.

We will need assistance with loading the barge, set up and catering.  If you are able to assist please contact Wayne Angus  wayneangus1@gmail.com or 021 997 080.

Keep an eye out for a special eNews in the next couple of days.
