Starling
About the Starling
The Starling is a beautiful New Zealand designed boat by Des Townson. It has a strong fleet here at KYC and around New Zealand. The Starling Class Association runs a Traveller Series, match racing and the National Champs. KYC has always had a great number of female sailors in the Starling sailing happily along side the boys.
The Starling fulfils its design mission: to fill the gap between training yachts (P Class and Optimist) and the performance youth boats (ILCA 6, 420, 29er)!
